What kinda phase converter needed?

I just bought a Harig Super 618 surface grinder. It is a 1 hp 3 phase motor. I'm wondering what kind of phase converter I need. Will a static converter be sufficient or do I need to go to a rotary?

What voltage? static or rotary would most likely work.
Have you considered a VFD? Even if it is just fixed to 60hz.

Sorry, it's 220v. Is a VFD cheaper than going either rotary or static?

For a 1 hp it probably would, if you just need it for one machine.

I see that with a static converter I only get 2/3 hp. With a VFD will I get full Hp? Also when buying a VFD do I need to get double the HP size like with a RPC?

Check with the manufacturer, some quote a derating % when used on 1 ph.
Something like a surface grinder kept at 60hz I don't think would be a problem.
