Hello all Wll the torque of a 3~ motor driven by a "constant torque" vfd set at 1/3 rated rpm (20hz) be reduced by 1/3 ? I get a 3x torque multiplication when changing pulleys. would that mean a 6x less torque overall ? |

| Wow! No replies yet? The available motor torque should be approximately the same as nameplate torque at your 20Hz speed. That would be 1/3 of the spindle torque you would have with the pulley reduction. Your available motor horsepower will be 1/3 nameplate with the VFD and 100% with the pulley reduction. Variable speed? Priceless! |
