I recently purchased the above mill with centroid controls. I thought the VFD had both single and three phase inputs but it is only three phase. I would like to update the VFD to a combinaton input and would like any information to help. The VFD installed is a SPEECON 7200M3. I would like to keep the remoted speed knob that is located on the machine head. Short of getting a rotary phase converter, what is my best option if I replace the VFD? |

I called ACRA today and they suggested just hooking 230 single phase to inputs 1 and 2 leaving the third open. Obviously that would effect the output performance but I doubt if I will ever use the mill to its maximum anyway. Does anyone see a drawback to this approach? Would anyone be able to calculate the DC output voltage from the bridge rectifier in both cases? I would anticipate the single phase output would be lower but not sure how much. Thanks. |
