Rotary phase converters

I have a brand new American Rotary 5hp phase converter installed for my Bridgeport v2xt. When you measure the voltage one leg measures 240 one measures 260 and one 272... I thought a phase converters purpose was to produce clean 3 phase balanced voltage power? I heard other people having the same problems. My machine gives me a voltage overload error msg. The manufacture told me to swap some wires and re wire this and that so my electric expert friend tried all that and nothing works.
Any comments will be helpful.

did you get some sort of resolution with your problem? I'm currently entertaining the idea of swapping the VFD in favor of a rotary Phase Converter. coincidently I too was looking at the same model you mention.

i don't have any experience with it, but maybe someone here can shed some light on this or similar products.
