Hi, I've been thinking about buying a Porter cable 7519 router. It's the 220volt version I was interested in using. Porter cable gave me part no. 22-7519-60 and it's a special order through my local hardware store. This is a single speed version of the 7518. The 220volt armature coils enables it to run cooler or so the techie at Porter Cable said when I called about the part number. Ok, I'm seriously interested in this router but want to know if any of you guys have managed to control the speed of this 3 & 1/4 horse power beast. Theres no feed back on it, I think? So I was thinking about a simple analogue control via current or preferably voltage say 0-10volts = full RPM. Is this possible? and what drive to use? Dan |

| i am looking at a similar issue. Ive got a 120v portercable 6902. I want to build a closed loop RPM controller for it. I beleive this will be fairly easy once I figure out what sort of driver circuitry is needed for these single-phase AC motors. Were it DC this would be easy - H Bridge, PWM. However, as it is, I havent got a good idea the best way to do this. Do you?

I also have been looking for speed control for the above router with no sucess . I use some large diameter bits and thats scarey. I would like to slow it down, but it might be the same cost to replace the router with a 120v one |

| Any updates on this question? Has anyone looked at the speed control circuit in the 120V router to see if it's something that can be re-engineered? I'd like to figure out how to control my 7519 from Mach 3 using a DC speed controller with some sort of feedback mechanism. |
