How to make RPC with junk parts?

I have a 20hp lathe and i want to make a rotary phase converter with part i can scroundga up? I had the plans onetime(but lost them) on using a Dryer motor hooked to a 3phase motor with a round fuse panel. If someone could help i would be happy? Please let me know how to do it?

    Thanks
    Ivan

Does the Lathe spindle have a 3ph controller or is it a straight 20hp 3 ph motor?
Using a RPC you are going to need another 20hp motor that is going to be one heck of a load off of a 240 1ph domestic supply!
You may want to seek out a VFD supplier that goes up that high in HP off 240v 1ph.
    I am assuming a 240v domestic supply?
