    Huanyang VFD and magnetic contactor

I didn't get anything back when I searched "huanyang contactor", though I'm sure someone has asked this question before...

I have one of the 2,2Kw Huanyang VFDs. The manual says not to use a magnetic contactor on the VFD output. However, there's a drawing showing a magnetic contactor on the VFD input side. Where it talks about hookup, it just says "R.S.T. terminal of input line power."

Am I supposed to use a contactor between the VFD and the wall socket, or just plug it in directly?

Sorry for the very basic question, but after staring at Chinglish for a while I get confused...

It is advisable to use a contactor on the input side and drop it out in E-stop, if you get a three phase contactor you will have a spare contact to also drop the drive supply out at the same time.
Presuming you are using the 1ph 240v VFD hookup rather than 3ph.
They are fairly plentiful on ebay.

The VFD's manual shows how to add an external stop switch. What would be the point of the contactor, then?

Hmm... the manual does recommend using a breaker of some sort instead of fuses. I guess the contactor would make a fine breaker.

The contactor would be an automatic disconnect on E-stop condition.
Otherwise you would have to fit a double pole switch?
