Will this VFD work for my CNC with a 2 hp motor. It is a Warner Nextdrive model SC4203-0100. I am attaching a link to the pdf file. It is listed with all the specs there. Will I be able to control the splindle speed through mach2 with this VFD. Thanks again. I will be feeding this with 220v single phase power. Jason |

THe problem is that apparently the VFDs are designed to control Motors. But the CNC portion is full of capacitance which will, I'm told, cause the VFD to trip and shutdown. So you need to somehow power the control portion directly from a single phase source....if possible. |

VFD's use several methods for control. ±10 analogue is one of the most common ways. Al.

| Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the only way to control spindle motor with mach2 is with a step/direction signal (would this be a servo motor as spindle?) or with Pulse Width Modulation. VFD's that use PWM are hard to come by but you could use the digispeed PWM to analog signal converter. This would convert the PWM signal from mach2 to an analog signal the VFD would understand. You would need a VFD that has a programmable analog input like the GS2's from automation direct |
