    VFD Power supply

I just got a Hitachi WJ200 for my Bridgeport, and I in the manual it talks about harmonics on the power lines and sine wave irregularities and alot of other stuff I don't know much about.

My concern is will my VFD play nice the way I am going to wire it?

I have a main line coming in to the box(220v 6/2w ground),going to a disconnect then distributing into two fuse blocks one for the VFD (30amp per manual). And one for my 1500 watt DC power supply for my servos(15amp).

My main question is will my power supply have any neg. effects on my VFD wired this way, or vice versa?

VFD's can reflect low frequency harmonics back on to the line, if this is a concern you could put an inductor at the input to the VFD, these come mainly in 3 ph types so you would only use two of the phase inputs.
I don't see it causing to much problems with the P.S. as the P.S. will most likely tend to have a cancelling effect to higher frequency signals to it input.

So, it sounds like I am worrying too much.
From your experience is there anything different you would do in this situation or any gatchas I should lookout for?

If I was going to use anything I would use a three phase inductor on the output, between motor and VFD, it is easier on the motor and the drive.

I got the same VFD as you for my router. I was wondering how did you end up wiring up you VFD?
Also did you use Fast acting or time delay fuses? The manual is not clear on that.

not necessarily.... a recent poster had so much noise their home internet would not work if the vfd was turned on....... you bought from a place that will not give you the advice you need on this subject? ask them! they made the money selling to you.....

as a hitachi hi tech distributor, we would have asked lots of questions BEFORE you bought to help you decide if you had reason to be concerned or not.

at this point, since you bought based on low price, my advice would be try it and see if you have issues: if so, post the issues for comments on how to fix them after the fact. I certainly would not go out and buy inductors or anything else until I tried it first....
