well, I built a shop here at my house so that I can work from home. Trying to have the power company come out and install a seperate meter and bigger transformer on the pole. All was good till itthe engineer who I met with sent in for approval. They saw 40hp rotary phase converter and denied me. I havent got the converter yet but i was gonna build one with a motor i have. I also have a 7-1/2hp converter i was gonna use seperate for the lathe. I have a 20 hp fadalfx 65 amp 3ph, 20hp 4020 40 amp , and a haas 15 hp. 40 amp. and a 5hp gangtool lathe 30 amps. plus some misc 2nd opp stuff. Im planning to have a 400 amp meter installed to run the shop. Power company says I can only have a maximum of 10hp per motor.???? that seems like total crap!!! So being honest didnt work and now I have to lie and down rate my equipment for them. How much service you think I really need?? I know these machine dont draw much when they are running, and I mostly machine aluminum which doesnt require hardly any HP. Sorry for the long post just alittle frustrated! |

| Im also thinking about converting my 4020 to single phase. Like mentioned before these machine dont draw much amperage while runnning, there power ratings are way overkill. I checked the fadal ontime and it was only pulling like 8 or 12 amps while maching some parts. |
