I have heard that rotary phase converters give off large amounts of Radio Frequency (RF) interference. If I run one of these in my neighborhood am I going to raise my neighbors eyebrows? It is for a R2E4 bridgeport, would a VFD be a better solution? Where can I find one that will work with the 4 HP motor and 220 1 ph. |

| Hello, my first post here, hope it help`s; Nope, the VFD will give you much more RF interference because of switching involved in making 3 phase from 1 phase. Phase converter will work better for general machine shop, CNC industrial machine will require a balanced one. I run one for my industrial size lathe 10HP, no probs so far, not to mention that my lathe need`s 380V, I solved the problem with one autotransformer input 220/380 output, this output is fed in rotary phase converter, work`s very good.
