Where to buy short length of VFD shielded cable

I am having some noise issues on my VFD. I just wired it in using the factory Hurco wires for the spindle motor.

The noise is leaving diagonal/interference lines on my Mach 3 tool path screen.

The listings on shielded cable for driving the motor from a VFD, they want to sell me 100ft or 250 foot.

I need probably 12 or 15 foot.

Have you followed good grounding practice? How are you running the cable from VFD to motor?
Normally you can get away with twisting the VFD to motor 3 conductors tightly and run in liquid seal flex conduit.
Make sure you have run the ground from VFD to motor.
Is your PC case grounded?

Right now the factory wires are just (3) 12 ga stranded wire in some rubber coated flex conduit. the motor is grounded from housing to the machine with a ground wire, the VFD is grounded on the power coming in and the cabinet ground star connector.

I will run a dedicated ground wire from VFD to motor. I will double check the PC to ground for sure.


For the control from the Spindle control board to the vfd I used some ribbon cable just to see if I could wire it right. Tomorrow that will be changed to a shielded cat-5 type cable.

If I have to run new wire, that Igus CF31 Chainflex looks like what I need.

This mill is close to running.

Fortunately in all the installations I have done on PC based systems, I have always used the Liquid Seal Flex and had no problems.
It is very important to ground from VFD GND to Motor frame.
Also it is best to set up a star point ground systems, this has been outlined many times before.
