Les, My mistake sorry, I just realised I'd done a typo! I meant to type 2.5Kg, if that makes it any better for your table? I just checked out the hobby cnc and if it's like the ones pictured on the site, I think you'll be struggling to get anything decent that won't be too heavy. I had the same problem, a small die grinder was about the best option, but all of them around the 1.5Kg at the minimum, but physically they were too large a diameter, which would rise to large stability and accuracy problems. The smallest routers were the same problem. I'm guessing your maybe using a dremel type tool as mentioned on their site? If you are, in that class of tool the best, I know of anyway, is the Proxxon 1B/E or even better is the long neck version of it, the LB/E to make it easier re-aligning the depth on the z axis after changing cutters on the one job. They are a little more expensive, but exceptionally good tools and more then powerful enough for most work. You are limited to a 1/8th bit size though, and I've found aluminium is not really a proposition. cheers, Ian |

| Ian, Thanks for the extra imfo. Yes it is like the Website shows. I tried putting a 3.2kg weight on the Gantry and it sunk by 12 thou. Presently using an American Harbour light Router. About the size of a Bosch Colt. I have a Dremmel and use this for only light work like PCBs. They seem to fit Bosch Colts to Table top machines similar in size to mine. Only trouble with that is thats its 110v and one needs a transformer. The Colt is supposed to be very good regarding runout if you can get a good one. Presently sourcing one thru the US. If i can geta good colt i will couple it up with a Super PID, designed by one of your countrymen. Thanks again. Les |
