Hi! I have bought a 2.2kw chinese watercooled spindle with matching VFD from ebay. I hooked it up on 220v single phase with fabric VFD settings, and the spindle spin to around 11000 rpm on 400hz. How to make it work on 24000? Does it need 3 phase or it need some different parameter settings? I am afraid to hook it on 3 phase because i read alot about fried spindles on this forum. Thanks in advance and sorry for bad english. |

yes at first you should set parameter on inverter. If you use DSP control the machine and you need set parameter in DSP also.the rpm in 8 degrees from low 0rpm to high 24000rpm. if you use nc studio system no need to set parameter in control system.it can work directly.

| Is the readout on the VFD saying 11,000 rpm or is the spindle turning 11,000 rpm? If you have access to a tachometer, you should find out what is really going on. In all likelihood the display is incorrectly configured. Assuming the spindle is actually turning 24000 rpm at that point then you need to find the setting that converts frequency to speed for the display. I don't know the details but it is probably number of poles. I *think* these are two pole motors. If you search around here, you should be able to find a list of settings for your setup. bob |

| My VFD show 11520 rpm on 400hz. When i change parameter 144 from 1440 to 3000,VFD finally show 24000 rpm at 400 hz. But from listening the noise of my spindle i think it is the same speed, but the VFD is showing twice the speed!? Once when i buy tachometer,i will check if it is real 24000 rpm or just a marketing scam. Thanks for cnczone and all his members for help. Last edited by devil2000; 05-10-2011 at 07:25 PM. |
