| For the first, I have experimented with this, as have others, and the results are extremely poor. For the second, no. Al.

| We sell Refu (refu.de) VFD drives and also run dc brushless motors with feedback on them and get 100% performance. Easy to do with this drive. We sell Kollmorgen brushless motor controllers (drives) and often run ac induction motors in v/hz and sensorless and sensor (with feedback) mode with 100% performance also on variious models. This said, Al's "no" is still valid as this is not very common so there are not many people who are available to support making it work so it is generally best to stay away from doing this unless you are totally self sufficient in making it work. There were about 15,000 Cincinnati Saber,Lancer,Arrow, etc machines built as far back as 1985 or so with our Kollmorgen dc brushless drive running the ac induction spindle motors as VFD drives. |
