Toshiba VF-S9 VFD questions | | I'm new to VFDs.
I got hold of a used Toshiba VF-S9 3.7kW 400V Class. It is meant to take 380-500V 3-phase input and provide 0-400Hz 3-phase output.
However I opnly have 240VAC single phase and I need only 1.5kW output for my lathe motor.
It was my understanding that the 3-phase input is rectified to DC. I thought - maybe ignorantly - that therefore I could just supply it with single phase and all would be well - it isn't.....
Does anyone know if what I intend to do is even possible (with parameter settings)?
Or do I need to sell it and get a single phase input one? If so, anyone interested in a swap?
Alternatively, Huangyang VFDs seem to be the cheapest around in this power range - I see lots written about them here and on other forums, but form reading much of this, it's not clear if they are very reliable... any views?
Cheers,
Joe
