I'm trying to get my 40k rpm Ibag spindle running, and I'm getting odd results. At any frequency between 30-400hz the motor just strolls along at maybe 60-120rpm... super slow. The sound from the motor changes with the frequency. The vfd will trip out on overload if I let it go too long like this. Now, here's the strange part. When I stop the freq drive and it ramps down from 400hz, for a brief instant, the motor revs up to some higher speed (a few thousand rpm, maybe?) before it stops. I don't know much about high speed motors like this. Any and all help, opinions, thoughs, or insults will be greatly appreciated. |
