    Default Sunfar E300

I've got a single Phase Sunfar E300 1.5Kw VFD I was hoping to use to power a water cooled 0.8kw 40000 RPM Chinese spindle. So far I can only get the darn thing to work at all by setting output voltage down around 25, and then the motor shuts down at about 350-380 hz.

I've monkeyed with all the settings and I am getting really frustrated.

Anybody set up a similar combination who is willing to go through and list off all your working settings?

2 pole, 4 pole? What max frequency do you need? 666 or 333 Hz?
If tables are similar to C300 then
    F0.8 sets upper frequency limit.
What have got for F1.15 -- rated motor voltage.
F1.16 needs to be higher than the default of 50?
F1.17 rated current of motor. Is it set high enough?
F1.24 - F1.27 motor specs. may need changing from default.
F2.5 max frequency setting. Default is only 50
Does the unit have default settings initially or was it inherited form some unknown application with strange settings?
    GC.0,1,2 Undervoltage/overvoltage limit, current limit.

Lots of things can make it sick.
Are using the front panel control or external voltage control F2.1 being not correct won't help.
Get it running on the front panel control first.

Is that BASS a fish or a musical instrument? Fish I suspect.

I have had the motor for a while, and I don't think any printed specs came with it. When I bought it, it was supposed to be .8kw 3 phase 230 and turn 40,000 RPM at 666.667Hz (apx). I sent an email off to the seller asking for more specs on the motor, but I bought it over a year ago and I am not hopeful of getting a response.

    This kind of bass:

The upper frequency limit setting for the C300 is 600Hz. Not sure about the E300.

I would be happy with 600, but the VFD is supposed to be able to do utpo 1000hz. My plan was/is to set my limits to produce 10000 to 35000 after I get it all figured out.

Yes, I am definitely trying to get it going on the front panel first. Its kinda neat in that you can remote mount the front panel with a standard RJ45 patch cable.

Looks like my picture got broken. Yes, bass the fish.

That doesn't match the parameter list for the E300 at all. Starts on page 16 (page 23 of the PDF file).

Thought there was something fishy there.
But most of my descriptions will find a place in the table.
2 pole. What max frequency do you need? 1000Hz is fine.
    From you E300 tables:

Just looking at it, F1.14 needs to be set as well as F0.4. Not sure of F1.13. Try it a bit higher.
F1.15 needs be probably fairly high so it spins up slowly, while not exceeding current and voltage at low RPM.
If it tries to accelerate too quickly then the motor looks to much like a short circuit at the lower frequency, which is what you are seeing with giving up at low voltage.
Set F0.13, and start with F0.11 on the low side. Fiddle with this one a bit.
You might try F0.8 a bit higher than 8.0
Put F1.16 a bit higher and see if that helps.
F2.0 might be holding it back. Give it time to get going.

    That's my best guess, Bob.

    Cheers
    Neil.

Ok... I think I start by going through all the programming addresses and making sure thy are set at default, and then look through your suggestions.
