| Hi - I recently purchased a ZENBOT 1216 for making PCB's and I use the wolfgang spindle for those. (Works great) However when I'm milling other parts I prefer to use a Proxxon. The spindle mounts on the zenbot are HDPE, and I'm worried that I'm going to ruin the threads if i keep swapping them. My plan is to replace the HDPE with 6061 Aluminum where the spindle mounts to. Any tips on milling Aluminum? (to date I've only done plastics, PCB and MDF) Has anyone with a zenbot have any similar issues and/or alternative solutions? Thanks Chuck Last edited by 5stargn; 11-21-2009 at 12:38 AM. Reason: Misspelled words |

| I don't have a Zenbot, this one is mine moving along So far all I have mounted is my Wolfgang but I do want to mount my Porter Cable at some point and do some wood and aluminum. I also need some pointers on milling Aluminum but I'm not quite ready as I need to purchase about $150.00 worth of upgrades to start. I'm not sure how spindle speed will play but if I need to adjust the speed I can add another ~$80.00 to that amount. |
