    what about piper cub

This is my cub the I can scale it up or down the cnc layouts are on 3 sheets of light ply 1200x300x3mm and has the options of light ply rear fuz or 9.3x9.3 hard balsa. The fin and tail are cut from light ply and then you add 4x10mm balsa to bough sides the this gives them good strength with out the weight wing ribs have lighting holes to cep the weight down the 2100m cub weight is around 4.5Kg. The wing have soft wood spars,on the wing cnc layout there is a slot so the ribs slots on to the spar to give the right spacing of ribs the riblets are slotted as well the trailing edge center fixing plat and tips are cut from light ply and have a tong and groove jont the trailing edge have slots in them so ever thing lines up the leading edge is made form a hard wood and slotted the same i am using a os 91 4strok

Fantastic job! I love that old airplane. I built a quarter scale several years ago from a kit. I spent at least a year making sure it was perfect in every way. Even coated it with fabric and built the landing gear from scratch. In the end, I sold it!!!!! I couldn't make myself fly the darn thing because of all the work involved. I could just see it re-kitting itself. So, lost my nerve and told the guy who bought it never to tell me of its fate. I just assume it's hanging in his den for all to admire . That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!!!

Hi Bill you sound much like me I proffer to build then fly but if we didn't go to the field on the weak ends the wife would think something was up, My next build is a (FIAT CR32) I have started on the drawings and have got most of the scale details I found on the RCA GROUPS FORM I will set up a thread for it, the landing gear is quit complicated I think there may be a springs or two to figure out, it has big spats on front and back it is cover mostly in fabrics but needs some thin aly I used litho plate from the printers if you rub soap on then heat it up over the gas ring on the cooker until the soap starts to black it is easy to work with and after a while it returns to it normal state
