Is there a parameter that will allow letters to be used in the program #? For example: O1234(A). We would like to have both O1234 and O1234(A) available in the directory, currently it will overwrite the existing O1234(A) program. The machine is a Daewoo Puma 230ms with a Fanuc 18T. |

| I think you can only use numbers. However check your book because I believe that on the 18 series control you can use more then a 4 numbers to define a program. For example if you have 3 different operations for program O1234 you can do O12341, O12342, O12343. I am not 100% but maybe up to 8 digits. If you want to stop the programs from overwriting it is parameter 3201 bit 2. This will generate an alarm if a loading a program with the same program number is already in the control. Stevo |
