| What is wrong with the G76 threading cycle? It is really just a macro embedded in the machine controller system. You have to enter parameters related to your desired thread just the same as you would need for any other macro.

| Comments can be added to G76 block also. The most important thing is that no-one can possibly write macros incorporating full functionality of such a canned cycle, in a reasonable time frame. No wonder these are options, sometimes. G76 can be used for multi-start threads also. The trick is to axially shift the start point of the next helix by pitch distance. F-word would be lead. |
