    family of parts???

Hi Everyone. I could use some help with sys variables. I'm new to macro programming. I am trying to set the tool length offset of 5 tools to one variable.
    N5IF [#101NE1.] GOTO6
    #7=#2003
When I set the TLO using #2003 for tool #3 and #2004 for tool #4,,, I get an error message. "Can not find Number” Something like that anyway. I am setting #7 to whatever tool I am using then using #7 as my H# in the program. In my manual (Fanuc 16i-M) it tells me that the TLO #'s are stored in these variables. With the alarm that I get I wonder if I have the right location??? Can anybody point me in the right direction. That would be great. Thanks for your time.

The system variable for the tool length offset differs depending what type of offset memory (A, B, or C), and how many offsets your control has.

Most of the recent Fanuc's I've seen are either B or C, both of which use #11003 for the Tool length Geometry for H3 and #10003 for the Wear. I would try

    #7=#11003

also, for backward compatability, you can use #2203 instead of #11003.

If you have over 200 offsets, you can get the values > 200 starting at #11201

    family of parts???

    Hi dcoupar,
Yes I was using memory A. That would explain why it could not find the #.
I will rewrite my program and try it out first thing Monday. One more question for ya. I am very new to macro programming. Please forgive the simple questions. Under memory "B" I see tool 1's memory spot is listed as #11001 (#2201) You called it backward compatability. What is the difference? Thanks for your time.

If you have old macros that used #2203, #2204 etc. they will still run on the 16i.
