Transfering G54 Values through a Remote Computer to Machine

Hi

I have a G54 Offset stored on my Remote Computer. The PC is connected to Machine through RS232C Cables.

I want to transfer the G54 offset to the machine through this communication link.

How can i do it ?

Any Program or may be Macro Program ?

Zirok.

The easiest way would be to store the offset in the program being transferred, with:

G10 G90 L2 P1 Xn Yn Zn

Or if you need a macro way of doing it then:

#5221 = X G54 Pos
#5222 = Y G54 Pos
#5223 = Z G54 Pos

eg

#5221=280.435

Download the macro variable tool from our site below.

So how i can acces & set G54 position from a remote computer.

Cool

Fanuc control
Machine - Mazak

I hope you are getting me -
I want the Machine Offset to be set through a Remote Computer (HyperTerminal Software) without actual access of operator to Machine Control.

What you need to do is transfer the information using the ethernet function. Its the only way. You then need to write some software to do it too.

What model fanuc control have you got?

I can tell you how to do it from this.

Then i dont believe it is possible to fire in the offsets on their own.

My solution would be to fire them over as a sub program, with g10 in it.

It would be a bit of a hazard if you could change the offsets from a remote location. Say an operator is running the machine and you go and change offsets on him. From his point of view the machine just crashed for no reason.

Edit:

It would be nice to be able to put a program on the machine from a remote location, and then cause a message to the operator to pop up on the screen telling him the program is ready to run.
