    l298 l297 driver 2A with stepper 3A help

    i have done my pcb l298 l297 2A

    its work perfect with stepper 1A

    but when i change with 3A stepper i uses 0.666 vref at paralell 2.1

    with pc power supply 12v

    but l298 heat abnormal more then 120 degre c

    i put aluminuim and 3 fan cooler but chip very heat


    did some 1 have solution haw i do

    Widerstand : 0,9 Ohm / Phase

    The L298 is rated a maximum of 4A ehn both channels are paralleled. Typical stepper configuration is 2A max.

    yes, u can use 2A driver with 3A motor, but it is lower torque

    Yes you can run a motor at less than it's rated current. The result is lower torque.
