Thumbs up Free Large File Transfer Software

I have summarized the tools for large files transfer, and would like to share it with everyone.
a)It can transfer less than 900KB files by free email boxes.Because it mayn't exceed 1MB for a single email. The email size are also restricted by the size of email box for registered emails. You can use web space to transfer 10MB files. For example, 10MB files will be needed to transfer to others. The operations are as follows:
to put a large file named xyz.exe into a website's catalogue(such as http://www.abcd.com/123).%20and then tell the other party its catalogue and file name. and he will download the files to his own hard disk by inputtinghttp://www.abcd.com/123/xyz.exe into the browser address box.
b) Utilize transfering function of the email. It is said that it can transfer mails over 1G by QQ, but it ofen fails when the files are larger than 10M.
c)The most popular tools for transfering large files overseas are Pando and YouSendIt. The common feature of the two tools is that the speed is too slow across transnational transfer, which can't solve the speed of transnational transfer. "Black horse" Kudaa developed in 2007, totally solves the problem of transnational speed, it's the first choice of transnational transfer tools. Its website is: http://www.kudaa.com/
d)Use instantaneous communication software, it requires both parties are on line at the same time, which is the supreme limitations.Furthermore, it has a problem of slow transfer speed.
e) Kudaa can solve the problem of slow transfer speed. you can transfer large files off line. it's the fastest transfer tool in the world at present. You can visit Kudaa website: http://www.kudaa.com/ to download Kudaa. It has the feature of easy use, high transfer efficiency, and it has become the choice of transfering tools.

Talking An even simpler method.

www.yousendit.com

You upload your file to yousendit.com with the destination email address.
An email with a link download address is sent by yousendit.com to your destination. The recipient clicks on the link in their email to download the file.
100 meg file is all of a sudden a non-event.

Thumbs up

Hi,
Man think about hosting an FTP server on your computer, configure the shared directories then make it accessible through the net with DynDNS it will give you a fix URL to access to your computer's FTP site from any where in the world, you only have to send the URL of your ftp site to the person you want to share files with, the limit of your FTP site is your hard drive's space you can put a connection password if you don't want a stranger to download your files and since it is a dynamic DNS you do not have to reconfigure your url & ip after disconnection (because you might have a dynamic ip).

your recipient can download from your ftp site with an ftp client like FileZilla(freeware),when you don't want to share files just shut down the ftp server program & stop thinking like a client & become THE HOST. MOUAHAHAHAHA ;-D

http://www.dyndns.com for more info !

A tutorial: http://lifehacker.com/software/home-...ver-130806.php
There's also FileZilla FTP server & FileZilla FTP client, just search on google for more info.

Good luck !

cnc2.

I use a Network Attached Storage (NAS) on my router. There are many to chose from. I use a Linksys NSLU2. It's a cheapy (~$60 US). There are better one's available.

You can host your own FTP site with it through the router.
