| Hi masaV Thank you. I have looked at their products, but 20 euros for blank PCB looks a bit pricey to me. It comes to 96 euros if you buy it with part kit. One can have 4-axis controller from Hobby CNC for less money. But their "tiny step" board looks interesting. I wonder if he will charge me VAT if I buy from outside (not within Germany)? Did he charged you VAT on your boards? I assume you ordered them from Finland. Cheers Roman |

| Phil, On L297-8HV I can use instead of Schottky diodes 1N5822 the ultrafast BY288? Could give me your opinion? Comutation time is around 20 microsecs (if I recall correctly) and schottky is around nanosecs; is this a problem? Thank you. Zoltan |

| zoltan, Couldn't find info on the by288? As DAG pointed out there are a number of substitutes. Just don't use a simple rectifier. Phil

| I made this board, based on the schematics sugested by de L297 manufacturer, but I redesign de PCB layout. This is smaller and works great. I have not finished the mechanics yet, but I tested several motor ( up to 1.5 amp phase, at 36 v). I used silkscreen process to make the boards, I have printed 10 units (just to be safe ) and finished 4 of them. |
