Arrow open source uni-polar chopper stepper drive 80V 5A -Schematic available

Hi,

I'm new to CNC zone and this is my first post.
For many years I have run a small company producing CNC plasma and router systems, mostly custom designed.

We have designed in-house all the electronics, mechanics and software

As I will be retiring soon I would like to contribute some of our designs (electronic mechanics and software)
to your community

My first contribution will be for an inexpensive uni-polar chopper stepper drive capable of up to 80v 5A with faciltiy of using with microstepping translator.

If this is of interest to anybody please contact me and I will post details within the next few weeks.

This design is what I was looking for from long time ago....
Welcome here with your design.
You will use a microcontroller for control the driver?

Thank you

The interface/controller for this drive is a simple latch multiplex using 74HC175 ic,s which I will be posting on the blogsite as soon as time allows. The PC controls this directly thus no micro-controllers are neccessary - all software is on the PC

Also software for the PC is available but only as shareware- I may put a simple version of this for free on the blogsite.

As I'm doing this in my spare time it may take a bit of time before I get all this on the site.

Thanks for your interest

Yep I will be updating the website as spare time allows. The website will eventually have details for the drive, simple multiplex/latch interface using 74HC175's and software- no microcontrollers neccessary - just a PC

This sounds interesting, perhaps you could do a "build" thread here and use that for instructions. Just a thought.
