6A Bipolar 2 Phase Stepper DIY Driver Suggestion

    Hello everyone...

I have been looking far and wide (and also reading a lot of posts here) regarding Higher current Bipolar Stepper Drivers. But somehow I'm unable to find a tested design. I hope someone could help me find a good design for a Bipolar Stepper driver that can do more than 6A.

Any Suggestions/schematic/Circuit idea/Related link would be highly appreciated.

    Thank You,

    Joe!

Thank You Kelinginc, dandumit, nhatson for your suggestions.

Kelinginc, I'm from India. I'm more of a Hobby CNC user. I think the shipping would cost me more than the driver itself. explains why I am unable to buy off the shelf drivers. So the only real option i have is to build a driver myself.

I have worked with the L297/298 drivers earlier which work pretty well but has the 2A current limit. For higher current requirements I think I need to take the FET route. I tried working with IR2104 driving FETs but somehow the results are not consistent.

Can someone help me with designing a H-Bridge circuit using IR2104 or HIP4080 ?

    Please Advice!

    Joe!
