| Also its not the easiest physical package to work with but that may not be an issue. I should think that could be made to work OK. How many do you have? You wouldn't be willing to donate a couple would you? - I am currently designing my own bipolar board based on PIC CPU and L298 output stages (because they are cheap) but looking for something better... |

| Thanks for your comment. I have 8 chips of STA505, my friend who work as technician on home theather repair gave it to me. He also gave me Switching Power Supply Controller, Sanken SMA-Z1001 but I can't find the datasheet anywhere. I have build controller using L297+L298 but it can't do micro stepping. Planning to make other controller using L6506 + L6203 + L6210. |

I've looked at the L6506/L6203/L6210 set but came to the conclusion that the L298 + 4 BYV27 diodes is a cheaper option. What were you planning to use for the microstepping controller? |
