I'm planning on using the 276oz bipolar motors from automationdirect.com for my current CNC project.
"Stepper motor, 276 oz-in holding torque, 2.8 A/phase, 1.8 degrees / fullstep (200 steps/revolution), NEMA size 23. 12-inch cable contains 4 leads terminated with a connector. "
It's my understanding that PICStep is the only open source driver which can handle this motor.
I'm assuming I'll need to build or buy a PIC programmer. Does anyone have any advice for this?
Futurlec.com seems to have the best price on the driver ICs. They also have a PIC which I think is the right one, let me know if I'm wrong.
"PIC16F628 Flash 18-pin 20MHz 2kB Microcontroller"
I plan to mill the boards on my current CNC, but I've never milled a board before. Does anyone have any suggestions or links to help get me started?
