| Hi oldpoppy70 , do you have one of the all in one 4 axis boards or a breakout board and 4 single axis drivers like this :- 5-AXIS (TB6560) CNC DRIVER BOARD 4 STEPPER MOTOR ROUTER | eBay depending on the meter you use your likely to get missleading reading if you measure the voltage across one of the motor windings ( the switching action of the current control will confuse cheap digital multimeters , not many people have expensive FLUKE test equipment) all you need to check is the supply voltage is within the safe limits for your driver (this can be several times the rated voltage for the motor!) put the ammeter in series with the positive motor supply to the board for a single motor without micro stepping you will then measure the total current for both coils with the all in one 4 axis board either dissable 3 axis or only connect the one motor John PS switch off before you disconnect or re-connect any of the wiring connecting or disconnecting any of the motor wiring with the power on will destroy the TB6560 IC Last edited by john_100; 07-31-2011 at 06:07 AM. Reason: add PS |
