HI! I'm new here, and I need some help... I have a lathe, and I want to cnc it..., i bought 3 siemens 1fs5044 servos... those are 3 phase AC servos, 1.15Nm, 3000rpm, 200 volts 3/3.5amps. they have hall efect encoders (3 hall sensors as I saw...) I have no more data about them, just that I mentioned uphere. i need some hel with the servo drives, because some guy told me I have to use siemens drivers only, I was thinking on a DIY ACservo drive but I can't find anything like that on the Inet. do you have some idea what can i do with this 3 things here??¡ finally... sorry about my terrible english, I have no too much practice really... |

| It depends on what system you intend integrating them into, and what type of servo control the intended controller uses, i.e. step/dir or ±10vdc analogue control and whether you need an intelligent drive with Dsp logic where the loop is closed back to the drive rather than the CNC control. For e.g. I use ±10vdc analogue non-intelligent drives and the servo loop is closed back to the CNC control, the drives examples are ADVANCED Motion Controls - servo drives and motor drivers with Advanced Motion Control BLDC motors with hall effect commutation are relatively easy to find drives for. | I think this ones are BLAC, not DC... that's what I'm afraid about. I don't have the pc interface yet, i was thinking buy a pci card from GALIL or something like that... or a LPT breakout board for cheaper begining... I haver never done anything like this before, so I know nothing about what plan to go for! |

| Even if they are AC sinusoidal and just use the Hall effect for start up, you should be able to use them with a regular BLDC drive in BLDC mode, although BLAC are superior. Al.

| well... here I am again... I have in my hands a toyoda ac brushless servo drive... it looks like if I fit a 8192p/r encoder it will work, but i need a software called MOwin5 to connect it to my notebook and set it up... somebody got it? |
