| Mine of course! http://www.piclist.com/techref/io/st...step/index.htm Seriously, you haven't given anywhere near enough information to answer that questions accuratly. The Linistepper is probably best for older unipolar motors (cheap, pull from old printers, fax, copiers) at 1.5 amps/phase (up to 3 with some tuning) and for driving loads that need to be turned very smoothly so that complex and expensive drive reduction systems can be avoided. Examples would be telescope or other optical mounts or small cnc systems where you need better accuracy more than you need power and speed. The Linistepper controller will run hot, but the motors will run cooler than they would with a chopper type controller. The Linistepper is NOT for: Bipolar motors. It is not a power house and not intended for huge currents or massive loads. It is pretty quick, but not a speed deamon. It gets HOT and needs a HUGE heat sink. There are many other controllers out there and I'm sure others will list what they are and (I hope) will try to describe what is best AND worst about each design. |

| pminmo for the moment i don't have motor ! My CNC is very big (200 cm x 150 cm) All in Aluminium, i seach the best motor and best controller for my applicatin ! I send a picture twomorrow ! Picstep v4.0 (http://www.fromorbit.com/projects/picstep/) is good ? (with this interface http://pminmo.com/3axisopto/3axisopto.htm) THX and hello from France !Merci encore ! |

| The picstep is an excellant board for a bipolar motor. If your router is big, you better select a motor first. Then select the electronics to drive it. Phil

| I was not able to find any info on the motor, so I couldn't really say. Yes, you would need three motor driver boards. You have options on how to connect them to a pc. Either of the 2 interface boards, or you can discretely wire. i.e. one DB25F connector and a few feet of 22 ga wire. Phil

| what is better/good driver board to 4Ampere or highes bibolar stepper motors? (can made bcp itself)and where i found dc servo board schematic? want test servo driver too(I have one old servo motor vhat run DC 30V very slow.dont know more detail thats motor) encoder have this. but need biggest motor my cnc and big current board.my board max current(all l298boaRD)2,4A what is very small.my cnc tread is trapetsoid and 4mm/r.and need cut to metal what torgue need in motor? linear X-Y is 800mm and Z is 110mm. (Z trhead is 2mm/r) |

| At this time there is no OS board that will do 4A bipolar or higher. That is one of my goals this winter. Just today I received a 4A nema 34 motor to be a test bed. I just have one almost ready that will do 3.5A continious 4A peak. Full step or half step, chopped current limiting. I took a little different design path with. It has both the 10 pin IDC connector for interoperability with the other OS boards, but also has a 5pin screw terminal that can be intalled for discrete wiring. Also put opto isolation on the step, direction and enable lines, and they have signal conditioning in front so they should be ok with laptops. Just need to come up with some bucks to get a prototype pcb. It is a double sided pcb, not what I would consider toner transfer capable. Pic attached.
