A few A3977 boards available now

I've designed a A3977 based board for general use. I now have recieved the boards and have some units so sell. These industrial quality boards are produced in Finland by Criadix PCB service.

    Please see board documentation at:
    http://www.students.tut.fi/~kontkant/a3977.php.html

    Price per unit:
    9.5 euros 1..2 pcs
    8.5 euros 3..5 pcs
7.5 euros 6 pieces or more

Posting costs according to Finnish post service. To EU region it seems to be around 2-3 euros for few boards.

If you are interested you can contact me by private messages or email: tkp at myrealbox . com

Sold out! Not currently planning to order more boards.

But if you are still interested, please express your needs. Maybe some day I could make a second board order.

To make my design more open I have uploaded Eagle files of my A3977 board and schematics on my web site. Scroll down to the page end to get them:

(Some of you may have noticed that my site has been down for three weeks. It is back online now.)

    Hello

And thank you very much for offering this work. Looks like a very nice driver worthy of admiration to me.

I am thinking about making 4 boards for a small cnc project, by toner transfer. It wont be the best of course, but i cant really afford to buy stuff from the market due to finance situation. :S Pwr supply would be 12v ~5-6A (atx pc)

    1) Any specific tips for this board that i should pay attention to when doing it in toner transfer?

    2) I checked the BOM parts list and all seems fairly comprehensible for my neuron (singular), just need to ask about a few parts:
    [...]
    *D9 Vz=34V DO34Z7
    *D10 PBYR1645 TO220
    [...]
Can you please provide more info on these or a mouser/digikey/ any other vendor link - or just more specifications. I am trying to figure what i need to find for those, and i dont want to make some mistakes, cant afford any.

    3) Also, i found somewhere said that at very low currents the chip SR would be best, and at higher currents the diodes would give better performance. Any ideea about what current value is the "breakpoint" for this (if there is such), like 1,5A or more?

    Thank you very much.

    1. None, expect you may need to do lots of vias

    2. D9: search a zener diode with zener voltage of 34V and with DO-package (lots of them available)
D10: as reference see http://f5soh.free.fr/ftp/Doc/General/PBYR1645.pdf . There should be lots of similar/equivalent parts available. Also D10 can be left out and replaced by short wire.

    3. I haven't characterized that. Around 1.5A could be a good guess.
