| Ok I am a newbie but I thought this might spur on the inventive mind of this forum. I am attempting to build a CNC Router from as many of the scrapyard parts to see if I can build it embarrasing cheap. I have included some pics of things I was able to find and will keep a running total of my spending. Now I realize these cannot be had every where but never can tell what you can scrounge. 1. conduit I found for $5 in junk 2. proposed x table...side of one of those HD shelves. $5 3. inside is exposed to allow nut and screw application 4. Look at all those mounting holes already there Well what do you think so far. Bob Last edited by blackbeard52; 01-01-2008 at 04:16 PM. |

today I stopped by a machining friends shop and was talking about my venture. He led me to the back of his shop and presented me with a huge Nema 12 box with a complete 4 axis servo package with power supplies and cabling. He had bought it at an auction a few years ago and did not know what he was going to use it for. I sure can find a use!!!!!!!! Scrounger Bob |
