    Diy - Vfd

I want to control my router and later my spindle with a VFD(is this the proper thing) but I would like to make my own.

Does anyone have a thread here or a link to some plans?

    Thanks in advance

You need to get whatever matches the type of motor you will use.

Your router motor is a universal motor, there are speed controllers made for these. Cannot use a VFD for this.

VFD are typically for 3 phase ac motors. If your spindle is going to use this type of motor then yes, a vfd can be used to control speed.

    Thank you for the info!

I will search for a good speed controller for my router then. I want to be able to use mach3 to control the router speed.
