Try this thread http://www.cnczone.com/forums/genera...y_chinese.html for info on you drive. Good luck. You might want to check into a Gecko G540.

    CNC Machine

    Thanks a lot!

I will try it and hope it works.

I think i will go into Geko but I would like to make that one works first, if not I will proceed with something else.

    Thanks again

    Building CNC

    Dear bobsch,

I took the courage to ask you few things because I don't have any idea about cnc's, and I would like to learn and proceed.

As I told you I bought the TB6560 because it was cheap and I would like to see the environment about cnc's before i buy something more expensive, but unfortunately I couldn't get it work. You suggested Gecko 540. I searched for it but because I am new I might need some help.

What i actually would need with Gecko 540? Type of stepper motors, power supply? Is this actually a complete driver board or I need more components to get it work?
Also, is it compatible with all OS, Mach3. What software to you suggest, if any?

I am sorry for this long paragraph.
Your help would be very important for me

    Thanks in advance

    Here's an example of a setup using a G540 and 3 (or 4) NEMA23 steppers Page Title
and here a sample wiring diagram to hook it all up http://www.kelinginc.net/G540WD.pdf The parallel port connector would connect to your computer and will work with Mach 3 or EMC.

All that said, however, a lot depends on what size machine you want to build including the size, the type of mechanical drive (Acme, R&P, etc.) and what you want to cut.

There's a ton of good advice on these forums and a lot of very helpful people who are great when it comes to answering questions.

    Good luck!

What cam software are you using?
The TB6560 should have come with custom config files on the CD.

I did the TB6560 route for a few months. It almost ruined my interest in CNC. It was nothing but frustration and heart breaks.

Finally fried it crossing a motor wire.

Went with the G540 and haven't looked back. The difference is night and day.

If you need the TB6560 files let me know.

    Good luck,

    Newbie Building a CNC machine

Yes I know what you mean, I was very close to throw away everything but finally i got worked.

TB6560 is cheaper and since is my first i bought it for test.
I will work little time with it and then i will move to Gecko series.

I have the files came with the cd but are not very clear, and i don't trust them.

What programs do you suggest to use for my CNC. I have Mach3 and LazyCam which there were included.

    Thanks for everything!!!!
