    Smile Steps per rev?

Ok i'm confused. Setting up Mach 3 to use on 6MM pitch ball scews direct drive stepper motors with Gecko 540 10 micro step drive. Do I need to change setup units to MM or can I figure this in inch? I know the calculation for revs per MM would be .166. In inch that would be 4.233 revs per inch. So what would I enter in the motor tuning section for steps per? I would really rather use inch units if possible. According to the mach 3 manual it takes 2000 steps from Mach 3 to turn a stepper one rev using a 10 micro step driver. So am I correct that for inch I would multiply 2000 by 4.233? That would be 8466. Is that the correct steps per or am I way off?

    Thanks,
    Brad

Yes, 8466.6666666 is what you should enter for steps/unit for inches.
