Converting a Linn saw mill to cnc

Looking for some help on converting a Linn saw mill to cnc.
Linn Lumber Mills | Portable Sawmills

Only want to control the up and down motion by CNC but just have no idea how strong the steppers or servo motors need to be.

The saw mill is built and running using hydraulics to control the up and down motion but is hard to cut two boards the same size.

I have built a couple table top CNC routers using hobbycnc products but do not think there motors will be strong enough for the saw mill.

Here is a video of one sawing wood.

    Thanks

    Wood Mizer CNC retrofit

I am currently retrofitting a wood mizer LT40 with traverse and up/down head with a CNC controller. The controls are Allen Bradley PLC with servo cards and a touch HMI with Servo Dynamics/SEM amps and motors. I have included some other features with the I/O : blade speed, blade tension, and an output to run the coolant. How are you coming with the Linn - I watched the video..doesn't take a very big servo if there is a gear box. I retrofitted a hydraulic head couple month ago. Used a rexroth +/- Valve and a micrologix PLC. Worked well.

    Wood Mizer retrofit update

I have completed the wiring and operation of the servos. I replaced a HMI in the field and was graciously given the TCP 6" touch screen . This is quite the asset to the project. It is mounted in an enclosure. I added a board foot calculator to the HMI/PLC which works great. Will also add the scrobner scale and Doyles scale to the HMI pages. The AB 1746 HSRVs are extremely hard to program but the winter has provided ample time to get the bugs out. The servos will be mounted on the sawmill sometime in June.
