Help with writing cnc or 3d printer coding

I am a c++ and java programmer who wants to learn how to write open source programs for 3d printers and cnc machines. Any one know of any source where I could get the tutorial?

Search for ramps and Marlin. Or slicer ,..but what do you want to achieve ?

Thanks. But the programs don't have notes explaining their codes well. I need to know how the code works so I can be able to hack the codes to add more features on them.

If you ever would have Hacked or worked on Open Source Project you would have noticed there is Never an "Explantation " for Code ? Normally it Take a Lot of learning Curve Till you are able to contribute ,..

A vast majority of at least hobby printers just use arduino. More examples and project than your brain can handle on the arduino site.
