When you say you have codes, does this mean you also own the dongle?
First you get good, then you get fast. Then grouchiness sets in.

You'd need the dongle, or the codes are useless to you. OneCNCXP is ancient history now, and no longer supported. But there's lots of productivity enhancements in XR3, so much so that I can't imagine making do with less than what we've got

BTW, there's a special on til the end of July where you can get XR3 lathe for free with purchase of OneCNCXR3 mill professional or expert. Mill Professional gives you pretty well rounded capabilites, if you're looking for software. And if you have a cnc lathe to program for, XR3 lathe is good to have around, too.

    Question onecnc engraving

i just got the haas cam mill package from one cnc . when engraving text around the inside of a circle , it jumps like crazy from one letter to another randomly without finishing any first . does anyone know how i can get it to finish each letter smoothly and then go on to the next ?

Upgrade to XR3 as the previous versions tended to do that 'jumping around thing' with some vectorized fonts.

Sometimes preselecting the text helped, IIRC.

However I usually engraved with Custom toolpath (in Mill Expert) because it tended to behave itself much better, but then you needed a surface (or a model) present to engrave onto.

XR3 has got lots more features that you need, than just better engraving sequences

Select nearly all the chain segments in the sequence you want to cut them in, but leave one chain unselected. Then enter the function to cut chain, then select the final chain and complete setting up the operation. It will cut in the order in which you selected the chains. It is a lot more work than just using 'engrave all' of course.

Do you already have line art, or do you have to derive it from an image first? OneCNC has a trace image function for the latter purpose.

But if it is only straight engraving from a dxf file that you need to do, then you can probably find cheaper software to work with.

i use onecnc but i would like some templates of game scenes such as are found on fancy shotguns ect that would transfer onto one cnc theninto g code or straight into g code . alternatively i would like some nice scenes that i can trace in onecnc . any ideas ?
