You can contact me via the email here with your thoughts. Currently I'm looking at a lower cost software alternative even though it may be a temporary solution. I'm also looking at emachineshop.com which may be my solution to get my products in production & generating some cash flow. Thanks.

I felt a bit uncomfortable that I had to get a "demo" and that I couldn't just download a demo version and figured it was a used-car-dealer pressure sales tactic but I was wrong. There's too much functionality in the s/w and it takes a while to get in the groove of learning and using it or any of the big packages. I spent (wasted) 2 days with the Mastercam reseller getting generic demos and a little time with a model I brought. I had a generic OneCNC demo and was pretty overloaded with everything it could do but I felt good about it. I sent them a model and had a second demo and saw them do specific modelling and CAM operations that I would be doing and then felt very comfortable that it had everything I wanted and a lot of stuff that I now know I needed but wasn't smart enough to ask about. In retrospect I'm happy about the way the purchase processed worked. I was calling them because I wanted it not the other way round.

    Differences

It appears that from the advantage package to the professional package that the only difference is the modeling capabilities. Are the modeling capabilities any different than what one could perform in rhino? What are the advantages of doing all the modeling in onecnc itself?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I try to do as much modeling in OneCNC and as little as possible in Rhino but I do use it. Some of my solids and surfaces look good in Rhino but when I look really close there are untrimmed surfaces which if bad enough are not going to machine properly. There's a lot of advantages with keeping everything in one system.

Also, OneCNC, you are saying 100mb is too big for a download/demo. It's not. Most people here rpobably have hispeed internet and this would be a considerably fast download (10 minutes? 20 max?). If I am going to spend upwards of $2,000 or more, I'm NOT going to do it without running a demo. Sorry, but an on-line dog and pony show isn't going to cut it. In addition to what you have already mentioned, I agree, plus take a look at my experience. Go back to the main thread page, then look back on page 2, Title: Shake Up At One CNC, go to page 3 of that thread, Date: 7-15-03, Post: #28. I got a "quick response" (with profanity from their senior support provider) "the day" they received it back.

Rightfully said Rand, keeping it all on OneCNC keeps things alot easier. Plus Rand made a valid point about untrimmed surfaces.

As for the other guys, if there is any special arrangements that you guys are looking for(i.e. brtlatjgt, rusty, Six, moto) let us know. We will be more than happy to make arrangements for you. We have several options to work with you.

    SRT shows his true colors

I am sorry to hear that anyone is not thoroughly satisfied with OneCNC or our software. However, the purchase and return happened over a year ago and I am surprised that he is now posting his complaint. It is always our intention to make our customers happy.
