Note the following picture. I am using z-level finish to do this. When I select only the blue layer to machine, leaving the amber pieces unselected, the program still machines the unselected portion of the part. Is there any way to only machine the selected portion. Ken |

| Mortek, Keithorr is basically correct. What OneCNC is doing is avoiding machining through the yellow pins, which is exactly what you would expect it to do, with its surface detection logic. When they are visible, then they are considered. If the pins are not actually integral to this part, then blank them, as there is no danger of running into anything, because, in fact, they do not exist when the blue part is being machined. That is my take on it, just by looking at what seems logical, but I've been fooled before by your models

| I always get a little confused. Want them there because they exist after the roughing operation. They contain the clamping bolts. I thought they needed to be there to avoid being run into. You're right, if they aren't there then the softeware doesn't consider them. I just had to remember to set my Z clearance high enough to clear the bolts. Ken |

| Edit: Sorry Ken posted before me. Let me Guess. Those "pins" are what you are using to hold the part to a fixture? You can use Planar Finish to selectively cut the Blue stuff, but not z-level finish. You may be able to set up some boundaries to "miss" the pin areas.
