    Question OneCNC WireEDM

Anyone using OneCNC WireEDM for the programming of their Wire EDM machines? What are your comments?

We use it at Leatherman Tool with a Charmille 330F . Had to the post and alot of customs myself . It wasn't hard to do but I am really looking forward to the release of an XP version of wire . All in all we are happy with it .

I played around with the OneCNC wire demo. It's a good solid piece of software!

I'm lazy, I'm only "sparking" when the EDM is running....

    onecnc for wire

    Steve,
When you say customs are talking about the custom icon and putting commands in there. The post edit seems to be limited.

It is . I put small "x's" where one has to go back and edit in some numbers . When and if they produce a wire version or plug in for XP , soon to be XR , then with the very fine NC manager you can really fine tune the post . But I have found in Wire 2000 that inserting code lines even if you need to do a little editing saves time. It also makes it easier for some of our less skilled people to learn and use . Are you the same wireguy who has been posting at the OneCnc forum?

    wire ost

Yes the same sorry it took so long for a reply have been out of town without a computer.
I mainly use the 2d cut instead of the other 2 and then use the custom for my offsets and optional stops.

Steveag, as a side note.. maybe you can do some sort of post-post processing to your wire files; You've already inserted a marker (the "X"), now you just need some code to go thru the file and find those markers and either make the changes for you (if it's the same thing), or prompt you for the values. I don't know if OneCNC supports VB Scripting, but even if it doesn't, you can make the script and run it seperately afterwards.

    Just a thought
