    NCLink Free on Windows 7

Just replaced my PC in the shop with a Windows 7 box.
When I try to open NCLink Free on it, I get an error "unable to create empty document" which I suspect means it lacks permissions to or is trying create a temp file in an invalid path (a folder that does not exist).

I am running it in Windows XP SP3 compatibilty mode as administrator.

I have not looked yet whether it's as simple as an .ini file or a registry setting (well that could be simple or not) but I figure someone else has seen this and maybe come up with the solution?

    Thanks in advance.

    Oh, my bad.
The issue is not with Windows 7 per se... it's with the 64 bit OS.
I installed Windows XP mode (virtual PC) but have not tried it yet. It's possible that may not work if the VM cannot access the serial port.
I'll try it tomorrow and report back just in case anybody cares.

I had to map COM1 on the XP VM to COM1 on the host PC (it does not happen automatically) but once I did NCLink Free running in XP Mode on my Windows 7 x64 PC communicated with my VMC just fine.
