    advice

    Hi Guys,

I'm thinking about buying a seat of onecnc here in the UK. I've been using mastercam and find it very difficult to understand, however I can find lots of books and training DVD's on the internet. Are there any training aids for onecnc? What's it like to use compared to other software. Does anyone in here have experience with mastercam and can offer a comparison. I pretty much have to learn as I go along and I'm still fairly new to cnc programming.

I currently do all my drawings in Autocad as a 2D wireframe and then put them into mastercam and go from there, only because I've used it for a long time and I've got so used to it. What's onecnc like as a drawing package? Up to now everything I've done has been a relatively simple 2D profile but now I want to start looking at 3D profiling but mastercam is proving to be a bit too complicated for me. I don't have the time.

    Any advice?

Call Onecnc and ask to run their evaluation. That should give YOU a better idea of the look and feel of the software. They run there evaluation on a server, you will be given a user name and password to long into the server to run the evaluation. I just called yesterday and I was told there working on getting XR4 on the evaluation server and should have it running very soon.
I have no experience with either onecnc or MC (using bobcad V23 now) but I too have been thinking about purchasing onecnc. I here it's very easy to use and learn + free support no maintenance charges.

    Regards

    ONECNC Recommendation

I started in the CNC world a few years back and my choice for CAD/CAM software was ONECNC.

Being a complete novice I really enjoyed the excellent interface of the software. They also have a private forum for ONECNC owners that will give you excellent help with any issue or problem that may occur.

They also tend to listen to user suggestions and most are incorporated into the major updates.

Try the demo version. I don't think you will be disappointed. Several levels of the software are available depending on your machining needs.
