Anyone purchased a 1212 with Fuling VFD, XHC mach3 controller and 2.2kw spindle? If so, any issues with controlling the spindle speed?

It sounds as though you are getting a basic machine with standard Chinese components. Mechanically the machine will run. If you must comply with local commercial safety standards, you will need to refit the machine locally. Most parts used by these factories are obsolete in the west, so you will have to search for replacements. Make sure that every last detail that you want met is in the contract from the parts to the shipping. Accept nothing less. Excuses are common, honesty is not. Get an inspection and realize that these factories are assembly lines. There is no formal engineering support and the employees have no technical and sometimes no other education.

The speeds of axis movement will be over estimated, the TIR will under estimated, wiring for a current load ditto, proper grounding ditto. Like I said the machine will work, but the concepts of engineering precision and safety are not Chinese strong points. Regardless of the contract expect Chinese part substitution for Japanese. They may say that lt's the best quality Chinese product, although it will be made from cheaper materials and with fewer quality control steps. Grades A, B, C will not be the equivalent found elsewhere. Expect poor paint finishes and rust.

I'm not sure if the Chinese space program has the same lack of precision, but it may take many attempts to reach the moon and an equal number of attempts to return to Earth. If they only use CE certified cable, the smaller conductors and the absence of fire retardant in the insulation will make it a toasty ride for some. Do you want fried rice with that? Excuse the humour!
