Default Just ordered my CNC 1325

Very excited about getting my first CNC build. I worked with Jack Liang to put my order together. I had an idea of what I wanted but since I'm new to this world, I didn't know exactly what I needed. Mr. Liang worked with me and was able to answer all my questions to ensure my needs were met. He was very knowledgeable and communicated very well. So far all the good things I've read about Omni is holding true.

I put my money down today on a 1325 with a rotary tool, and thus far I have no complaints. I will update as this project moves along.

Nice, good luck with your machine.
I also recently received my 1325 from omni and I am really happy as this is my first cnc with more than a 0.5x0.5 footprint.
I saw few things that I would had changed on my machine after it was already shipped but I am loving it

I would had made the z axis a bit higher and the vacuum table that I told them to add was unnecessary for me. I also have 2 spindles and I thought that I could move 1 spindle so the other can work on full 1.3m but it is closer to 1m.

Also I was told that servo motors were much more reliable so I asked them to put those, there were a lot more expensive so I don't know if that was good.

I would recommend that you research everything you get but ,all in all, I am very satisfied with the machine.

I just remembered that the config file they send isn't very good. It took me few days to get it running good as it was moving 1cm instead of 1mm( first time working on mach so it took me some time)

I did go with servos on my build also, from the research I did servos are the way to go if your willing to pay for them. I went with a rotary tool also so my Z is at 350mm which I think will work well if I ever needed to work on really thick stock for whatever reason. I did go with Mach 3 also so Ill make sure I check the increments. Thanks for the info. It's always nice to hear others experiences.

Hi Chaka. I just took the plunge too, and Omni is strarting production of my 1218 machine. I'm also dealing with Jack, and I agree that he is very knowledgeable and patient with a newbie. I guess you haven't received yours yet?

No not yet. I haven't heard anything about my order which is a little unsettling to me. I sent my down payment on Jan. 23. Was quoted 15 days for build. I did not hear anything from Omni about delays or status updates. I decided to shoot an email to Jack on Feb. 23. He replied that they were on holiday for the week for Chinese New Year which I completely understand. Jack had told me on Feb. 25 that he would be back to work in 4 days which would be March 02 and I would hear from him in a few days. It is now March 6 and I haven't heard a peep. Below is the email I sent Jack on the Feb. 23.

"Hey Jack how are you. I was wondering if you could give me an update on my CNC build. In your email initially you had quoted me 15 days for the build, I had sent the down payment on Jan. 23 so we are a bit past the 15 days and haven't heard from you, so I figured I'd touch base with you to get an update."

I believe Omni is a reputable company and that they are actually building my machine not scamming me, but I do not like the fact that I'm left in the dark without any updates from Omni, especially when it's their timeline. I am in no rush to get my machine but if you tell me 15 days, I expect that you take responsibility and have it ready in 15 days or revise the timeline and let me know the new finish date. No big deal to me. Take as long as you need to build it right is my philosophy. If you tell a customer a date, make the date or tell the customer a revised date, it takes 2 minutes to shoot an email. So the few days to get back with me for an update has turned into 5 days. If I dont hear from Jack by the end of the week I'll send another email and see what he says, and Ill ask him politely to communicate with me better and give him the benefit of the doubt before I step up my game. Ill keep you posted.

Let's hope that this delay is about a back log they have to work through due to the recent holidays there. If I were you I'd give him a call on his cell. I did that before I transferred the deposit just to take a more personal contact. You'll find the number on the bottom of each email. I get the impression that they have a lot to do (even though this is no excuse to not follow up existing customers). Keep me posted on your progress. I seriously doubt that they are scamming us, but I don't think we can expect the same level of customer service we are used to locally.

I think Omni is one of the company's everyone else copy`s I have a machine simaler to one they use to make, different company it was lump of ****. there is starting to be some company`s over that are doing good work I get some of my electrionc`s from china 1/10 the prices never had a problem.

it would be good if your machine turns up and is good

Subscribing to this. I've been in talks with them about ordering a 1325 dual spindle. With the chinese new year and the big show they did it doesn't surprise me they have a back log.

No not yet but I only transferred the deposit a few days ago. It will take at least that long for them to get it and confirm. But something has to give for Chaka soon! Or steps will have to be taken

How far are you on your process?

Ok called the Omni rep I was dealing with twice on both his cell phone and work phone attached to our email correspondence. No answer on either line. I then went to the Omni website and they have the online chat feature, that is where I got a hold of Jack. I just asked for him and after a few minutes he replied to me and answered my questions about my build. Next week they are suppose to be done with my build and send me pictures and video of the machine. Jack apologized and said they did have a back log and that's why it is taking so long. So my anxiety has been put to rest for a couple weeks. Jack did say that if I had skype it would be easier for us to communicate and reach each other, so Ill be downloading and setting up some skype here soon. Ill update next week on my progress.

Excellent! The world continues to spin!

I also got a hold of him, and he informed me that they are in the process of collecting parts for the build. Needless to say, that's going to be a welcomed machine when it arrives !!

Great looking machine, and solid. Looks like it could withstand a meteor impact! I'm guessing that the pictures went a long way to relieve even more anxiety Congrats!

Well my machine was shipped finally about 2 weeks ago, finally, and should be here in another 3 to 4 weeks. Ill post when I get it unpacked with my opinion. I ordered in Jan. and it was shipped in April so 15 day build time I think you can pretty much write that aspect off. I am in no hurry really so as unsettling as the missed ship dates were to me, I was under no deadline pressure.
