You need to set the tool tip compensation plane, 1 to 6 I believe. To the right of the tool offset in the offset page. There is graphics to guide you on it.
we have a problem on an okuma cadet with osp 5020. the machine has a problem with radious programming. the radious chamfers are exactly 1/2 of the programmed radious. tool nose radious compensation works correctly in one plane, is wrong in other plane. The customer has no parameter lists. We have tried various programs sent from the factory, but they do not work.
any suggestions?

I appreciate your response. would this be the "P" number, which is from 1 to 9? if so, we have tried all of them. we normally run this tool with plane 3. we tried 7 and a couple of others.
we also tried zero offsets, zero tool nose radious compensation, and programmed a simple arc using g42. the radious still comes out 1/2 of the programmed arc. the control was updated by the factory to cure the problem and they seem a little stumped.
thanks, we tried what you suggested already but it seems the problem may be elsewhere. The factory has sent multiple programs but the control still produces 1/2 of the programmed radious. Also, we noticed that when we face to center, it will be ok and moves to the programmed position, but when we come back up to make the radious that leads into a turning op, the end of the z-axis programmed moved shows that the z move has added 1/2 of the tool nose radious.
thanks for any advise you have.
there are more conditions to be met. Make sure Your radius compensation command is proper according to shape direction. Try G41.
